I am writing bios on the Confederate soldiers who died at the Union prison at Rock Island, Illinois.
Private George W. Aldridge, enlisted in I Co, 30th MS Inf Regt at Grenada, MS on 13 Apr 1862. Was wounded near Murfreesboro, TN on 31 Dec 1862 and captured on Lookout Mountain, TN on 24 Nov 1863. He was sent to Nashville, TN, to Louisville, KY and then to Rock Island prison, arriving there on 5 Dec 1863. He died there on 14 Aug 1864 and is buried in the Confederate Cemetery on present day Rock Island Arsenal, Grave No. 1412.
