ALDRICH, Rufus of Binghamton.
Did you ever learn about the ancestors of RUFAS OR Rufus Aldrich who lived in Binghamton, Broome Co., New York? I am trying to research this family for a descendant of his son, William, who moved to Illinois.
I know Rufus married Mary or Polly Smith in Pownal, VT. ca. 1805.
There were other Aldrich families in Broome Co. at the same time. They were descended from Solomon Aldrich born in Mendon, Worcester Co., MA. in 1753. He moved to Richmond, Cheshire, N.H. where he served in the Revolution, then to Wallingford, VT., then to Owego, New York where he died in 1832. I have not been able to prove he was the father of Rufus.
