Hand tremors, palsy or shaking

A recent conversation with a distant ALDRICH relation renewed my curiosity about what appears to be an inheirited family trait within the ALDRICH family, a shaking of the hands. Some of you may know what this hand tremor would be called medically, I do not. Has anyone traced this family trait? It afflicts my step-grandfather, who descends from Samuel and Sophia ALDRICH. I just found a web page that gives Samuel's lineage as Niles,Caleb , Benjamin , John , and George BUT, my grandfather seems to have inheirited through his mother who was Samuel's granddaughter. Since it was passed from mother to son in our particular case, it may have entered the ALDRICH line through any ancestor, male or female previous to Samuel and Sophia's son Edwin "Vasco" ALDRICH who had many descendants with this trait. (So, it could have even been brought into the family genetics through Sophia GREELEY ALDRICH).

I am just curious about this as I am with the Muscular Dystropy that has run in my own family.
