Aldrich moved from Rochester, New York to Springfield, Ill., some time prior to the Civil War and for many years were the only Aldrich family known in this part of the country. After the Civil War few of the relatives were heard from and it is not known to us what became of them. These records were taken from an old paper preserved by an old Aunt who has kept it with some old papers in an iron box and the paper used was or thick brown paper of good grade but faded. Thye paper is of kind used in colonia days and the records of all parties are incomplete. As far as it is known to the writer my grandfather was the only one that left the East. Others may have moved to other parts of the country but there is no records in my possession. There were several sons and daughters of the above Aldriches of whom we have no data as to name, date of birth or date of death. This is transcribed, misspellings intact, just as it was typed in 1928. EdrieAnne Broughton Notify Administrator about this message?
