History of the Aldrich Family

An old chart of my immediate family shows generations as follows;-
1) George Aldrich, came to America in 1631
2) Jacob Aldrich, son of George
3) Seth " son of Jacob
4) Jacob " son of Seth
5) William " son of Jacob
6) Uriah " son of William b. July 16, 1760
d. Dec. 5, 1816
7) Ira " son of Uriah b. Feb. 13, 1787
No death record
8) Marcellus L." son of Ira b. Jun. 23, 1809
d. 1865
9) Charles Luke " son of Marcellus b. Mar 27, 1850
still living
10) Arthur Lincoln son of Charles b. Jul 30, 1897
George Aldrich came to Amercia in the year 1631 settling first in Dorchester, Mass. 1640 in Braintree and in 1663 became on of the first settler of this town where he died in 1682, his wife Katherine dying there in 1692.
George married Katherine Seals. George's son Jacob married Huldah Thayer. Jacob's son seth marreid Deborah Hayword. Seth's son Jacob married Jounna Bartlett. Jacob's son William married Dinah Aldrich.
William's son Uriah was born July 16, 1760-died Dec. 5, 1816 in Lisbon, N.H., married Mary Donner or Dawson who was born in 1751 - died Oct 14, 1837 in Lisbon, N.H. They were married Oct. 15, 1786.
William Aldrich (5) married Dinah Aldrich, daughter of Edward Aldrich. In the line of Dinah is George (1), Jacob (2), David (3), Edward (4), Dinah (5).
Edward aldrich (4) married Dinah Aldrich, daughter of Seth Aldrich (3).

My grandfather, Marcellus L. Aldrich moved from Rochester, New York to Springfield, Ill., some time prior to the Civil War and for many years were the only Aldrich family known in this part of the country. After the Civil War few of the relatives were heard from and it is not known to us what became of them.
These records were taken from an old paper preserved by an old Aunt who has kept it with some old papers in an iron box and the paper used was or thick brown paper of good grade but faded. Thye paper is of kind used in colonia days and the records of all parties are incomplete.
As far as it is known to the writer my grandfather was the only one that left the East. Others may have moved to other parts of the country but there is no records in my possession. There were several sons and daughters of the above Aldriches of whom we have no data as to name, date of birth or date of death.
