I too have a grandfather named Frederick Aldred, although his middle name was George. He married Emily Hyland in England and came to Canada in the 1920's with their two children Fred and Ernie. They settled in Fergus where Fred and Emily had two more children Kathleen and Rosie. My uncle Fred married Florence and had several children, Edna, Fred Jr, Winnie and Cecil. Don't know if that adds any insight for you but has totally confused me. I too am having a hard time get farther back than this.I think that I may request a copy of my Grandfather's birth certificate to see if I can get his parents names.

Anna
