Another sad but true story about Alderton ancestors. Martha Ann Alderton was the daughter of Daniel and Nancy (Haggerty) Alderton. Martha was born Dec. 15, 1843 in Paw Paw, West Virginia. She died c. Nov. 7, 1866. Cause of death: A few hours after the birth of her first child, Martha Ann's farmhouse caught on fire. She rushed out to help carry water. This effort proved too much for her and both she and the child died. Their grave is at Wyaconda Church, at Canton, Missouri.
John Fry, on March 13, 1873 married Susan E. Adams of Lewis County, Mo. They later moved to Washington State, where they had one son and four daughters and are buried at Spanaway, Washington,
