I found a family bible in our attic. It starts out with Edward Alderson b. apr 14th 1849 in England I'm trying to find out who his father& mother were and where they really came from. Some parts point to norway/english decent. inside cover says (Nellie) outside cover you would of never guessed its (Aunt Nellie 3/27/1895 a bible, its been through a fire and has gold lined pages. never saw one like it?
I can't find a date to how old the bible is but it says by his majesty's special command.

the s.s. teachers bible
appointed to be read in churches
printed from fac-simile plates of the univ. press, Oxford
then it goes to Peter peterson & nellie Alderson down to mary peterson/ Prouty.
