As Beth has said, there were two Alderfer immigrants. Since you are from Pennsylvania you are probably descended from Friederich Alldorfer who arrived in 1733 at the age of eighteen. If this is your ancestor, the family is well detailed in a book "The Alderfers of America" by Helen Alderfer Stanley. I was able to find a copy from a dealer on the internet. This book also has some information about the descendants of the other Frederick Aldorffer who arrived in 1732, age 25, and is the ancestor of the family line that migrated to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, then to Ohio and west.
Just as a matter of info, there are 42 W. Alderfer's in the index of Helen Stanley's book. Be glad to help if you have some specifics. Good luck.
