I would like to see original documents concerning him, but I will accept that he was real. Even so, how can we prove that the name Alderedo is the same as Alderete? Don Pedro, our known ancestor was the son of Don Rodgrigo, and they are both buried in Tordesillas, which is a long way from the Torre da Silva. And where are the ancestors of Don Rodrigo? We have to go backwards from him, not debate the origins of the name. Let's just, for the moment, assume we have two theories for the origin of the name, and try to work back from Don Rodrigo. Do you have any information on the ancestors of Don Pedro and Don Rodrigo?
