Dear Susan:
I have great news for you. It has taken me like 3 years but finally I found today at the National Archive here in Santiago Chile a contract made between JUan Bernard in behave of Mr. Felipe King (probably Philip KIng) and Agustin Alderete. The contract says basically that Agustin ALderete is was hired to work for Mr. King for 3 years in "Nueva Holanda" and Juan Bernard is obligated to send him money each month and after those 3 years he (Mr Bernard) have to pa him the ticket in a ship to go back to Valparaiso, if Agustin wanted that way.
I need your email to send you a copy of that record.
And also I am pretty sure that Agustín Alderete was a natural son of or a grandson of José Justo Alderete Canales. I still have to keep reading more records.
I hope that information would help you and please send me your email or email me yourself to
