I only have information from public records, primarily census records. As you probably know, there is John Alcorn whose will is found/recorded/? in Will box 1 of Mecklinbutg Co. in 1790. I do not have a copy of it. There is a reference to him being in Mecklinburg Co. in 1765, but I have no details. His widow Margaret is found in the 1800 & 1810 censuses and is assumed to be the olde woman with John Alcorn in 1820 & 1830. It is likely that the Mary Margaret Alcorn who married Eli Alexander in Mecklinburg Co. in 1805 is a da. of John & Margart, also the Sarah Alcorn who married William Nance in 1814 or 1818 (can't read my own handwriting).also probably had 3 sons, John and 2 others. Going by the census records and ages, Mary is probably John jr's second wife. Susan b. c1842 is probably a da-in-law of John & Mary, but I don't know which son she married.

There is no know relationship between this family and the other Alcorns in NC who came from PA by way of VA.

Now I have a question, which John Alcorn was in Halifax Co. NC in 1782-84?
