Do you have birth and death dates for your Jesse Alcorn ? I suspect that my Anna Alcorn might be the daughter of John and Margaret Allcorn who are listed in Beaver Township, Jefferson County, PA in the 1850 census. John and Margaret had a daughter Margaret, wife of William Foster, who ended up in Poweshiek County, Iowa. The Fosters followed the traditional naming pattern by naming their first children after the children's grandparents. It would seem that Anna Alcorn Ferguson did the same.
