My husband,Robert Alcorn [Roy] derives from Donegal. His grandfather was John. There is a family history of many Georges. The family came from a townland in Fanad peninsula called Glinsk. They seem to have been Cromwellian settlers arriving in the mid 17th century. Glinsk is part of Fanad known locally as 'Between the Waters' as that area is virtually an island joined narrowly to the rest of Fanad in the north.
