Alcorn Family Genealogy Forum

I am searching for additional information concerning the Alcorn family, originating from Augusta (Woodruff County), Arkansas, by way of Wilson County, Tennessee during the latter 1870's or the early 1880's. They were listed on the 1880 census in Woodruff County, Arkansas. The children were reared in and around Augusta, Arkansas during the above time. The matriarch was Emmanuel Alcorn and his wife Jane. The children were listed on the census as Eliza Hardaway, age 23 y.o. with 2 children; Louisa Martin 21 y.o. with 1 child; Norman Alcorn, age 13 y.o.; Jannie Alcorn, age 12 y.o.; William Alcorn, age 10 y.o., and Jordan Rattler, age 6 y.o. My great grandmother was Jannie Alcorn, who married my great grandfather, John Henry Puckett in 1882 in Woodruff County. They had seven children, which three lived to get grown. Their oldest child was my grandfather, David B. Puckett, who married Minnie Lee Hollis in 1908, in Woodruff County and had 12 children. My mother was one of those children, which was the 8th child, Hazel Puckett, who married Saint Clair Roddy on February 13, 1945 in Woodruff County. I am trying to work my way back to find out who my great grandfather's parents were and where they were in slavery and who their slave owners were. This information I need to find my roots. I thank you in advance. Clara M. Roddy-Worsham
