James Alcorn & Louisa Lovins (Lovelace)
Posted by: Cathy Coffer Date: September 10, 1999 at 20:01:38

It appears I may have to accept that James R. Alcorn was married to a Louisa Lovins or Lovelace in Rockingham Co. NC. Children were John Will, James Roland, M. J., M. A.
James had other children later: Bob (Robert Sidney), Latisia, Minnie, and Elizabeth. At least the last two were possible the children of Elizabeth Gibson or Mary gibson. My Grandmother Minnie b 1893 was a child when her mother died. Thing is, that on her SS application she list her mother as Elezbeth Gibson. Cant find any Rockingham Co. records for Elizabeth or Mary Gibson and James R. Alcorn. I know he stayed there his whole life. James R. Alcorn was the son of John A. Alcorn and Sarah Jane Ratliffe. His mother also married Johns brother later in life. I am trully interested in Mary Gibson.
Thanks. Cathy
