thanks for the explanation. the reason i am interested in Sherrills is because i have an mtDNA cousin who goes back to Eliz. Abercrombie who's mother was Eliz. Sherrill. generations later, 2 desc. of Eliz. named Julia & Sarah India Chism married two Sherrills. since i am adopted, i'm not sure how the Sherrills are related to me. I am probably also related to Alcorns in Estill Co KY. blessings, good luck K S mitchell in VA
