John Wesley went by Wesley Sherrill, he married Martha Jane Alcorn her parents were from Jackson Tn. a brother Alexander Sherrill who married Rachel Mounts in Mo.. in 1849, they were neighbors in Mo. Wesley and Martha named a lot of their children after George Davidson Sherrill who married Elizabeth Hunt Morgan
Adam Sherrill who married Ellen Gilmer were married about 1818 Alexander Sherrill born 1819 who married Lucinda Lawson
Samuel Brislin Sherrill married Marian Gilmer sister to Ellen, Samuel Brislin was in Missp. and Tn. he never came to Mo.
I am looking for documents
George Davidson Sherrill in his will Adams children to have their fathers part but said children took nothing. George's will mentions a child Adam.
Adam died around 1835 and his wife died shortly after this
left 3 children Alexander, John Wesley, and Benjamin
who took the children
I have been searching for years you can read all my posting
In Mary LaJean Davis Sherrill she wrote. a book it is 2 vol.
she has Adam Sherrill and Ellen Gilmer as the parents
John Wsley Sherrill who married Martha Jane Alcorn down to
my Sherrill line I called her she could not tell me where the information came from, I talked to Chuck Sherrill whose
line is from George Davidson Sherrill son of Samuel and the
only info he remembers is
Years ago he thought he came across a paper that 3 boys
sold their part to Benjamin Sherrill he thought land was in Cumberland Co. Tn. That would be wonderful if my line
could find that paper that would tie the boys Benjamin, Wesley and Alexander into their father Adam who died young
and they got their share.
I figure the Gilmer family raised the children
