Hi John
I am a decendant of the Alchins. My mother was an Alchin from Dalton NSW. I was born in Gunning NSW. Have been working on Alchin history for some time. Very time consuming and at times frustrating.
From my research I think your William Earnest Alchin is one of my family. He was born in Dubbo NSW in 1899 and died 9 June 1961. His father was Ernest George Alchin born 17 May 1872 and died Dubbo 1932. His father was George Alchin born Camden NSW in 1845. His father was Ambrose Alchin born 11 May 1800 in Maidstone, Kent in England. He and his wife Elizabeth Waterhouse emigrated to Australia. He died 13 November 1877 and is buried in the Dalton Cemetery. His father was Thomas Alchin born 21 July 1771.
More on William Earnest Alchin my charts show he was one of 14 childen!! No TV in those days!
I would like to find out more if you have the info and I would gladly exchange any thing you would like to know.
Also I am married to a MONK girl from Queanbeyan NSW.
I would dearly like to find out more about the connection to William Earnest from the MONK family if you have any information. My relations have a large amount of information on the Monk name but my wife does not recognise Dorothy or Gilgandra.
