Ron Russell has posted transcriptions of some early references to Alburies in the Bahamas on his website http://members.aol.com/bahamadatabank but this does not seem to cover the references Alana referes to. It would be very interesting to see them. To strengthen the case for a link between William Alberie of the Dorset voyage to Bermuda in 1635 and all those Bahamian Alburies I have just discovered the following will transcript in "Bermuda Settlers of the 17th Century: Genealogical Notes from Bermuda" by Julia E. Mercer, 1982 , a reprint of articles appearing between 1942 and 1947 in "Tyler's quarterly Historical and Genealogical Magazine." 1679, Book E. P. 318 Will of Thomas Turner of Sandys tribe. Nov 15 1679 Daughter Ann wife of John Roberts of Hamilton Tribe Daughter Dorothy wife of William Albery of Eleutheria & 2 sons & 2 daughters Grandsons: George Roberts & William Roberts son in law Robert Burch. Grandsons Thomas Waylett. Granddaughter Love Waylett sisters of Thomas Waylett viz. Susanna Merritt, Elizabeth, Martha & Marie Waylett Granddaughter Susanna Merritts two children Edward & William Merritt wife Susanna Turber. Friends Jonothon Burch & John King overseers. Here is a clear connection for William Albery from The Bahamas and Bermuda. If he went out as a 15 year old in 1635 he would have been 25 when the Eleutheran Adventurers came to the Bahamas.
