This is a late reply but better late than never.
I know a little about those Albury's as I am directly related to Kate Amelia, she was my great grandmother.
Kate's mother was Mary Ann Broadbent (born 1836 at Knaresborough), and her father was Dr William John Albury, born in Nassau Bahamas. After Mary Ann and William John Albury were married in 1859 they immediately traveled to the Bahamas and were there at the home of William's father, Mr William D Albury (Merchant) where Kate Amelia Albury and William Broadbent Albury were born. They returned to the UK during the American civil war. The Albury's were a wealthy family and their children attended school in Britain, and they frequently traveled between the Bahamas and the UK. My father says they summered in the Bahamas.
Perhaps someone has information about the parents of William John Albury, or otherwise a good contact in the Bahamas? I know William John Albury's father was William D. Albury, and I think his mother was Sarah Elizabeth Dowson. I am trying to obtain information from the Bahamas archives to confirm this but this is not an easy process as they appear to be quite unresponsive.
Kate married John James Broadbent (my paternal grandfather, born in Holmfirth) in 1892, and they both immigrated to New Zealand where my grandfather George Ernest Broadbent (after Kate's little brother) and his brother William John Albury Broadbent (after Kate's father) were born. only George Ernest had children (with his wife Grace Isabella McNab), who were Patricia Marjorie Broadbent, Winifred Broadbent (after Winifred Fields nee Albury), and Richard George Broadbent (my father). We know about the history because Kate lived a very long life dying at the grand old age of 98.
Mary Ann Broadbent's parents were James Broadbent (b 1802 at Longwood) and Jane Booth (born at Knaresborough). James had siblings Mary (1798), Hannah (1793), Joseph (1802) and John (1796). The brothers Broadbent along with their father John Broadbent (born at Helme, Meltham 1758) were involved in the woolen industry during the industrial revolution, and had a company called John Broadbent and Sons at Longwood. Particularly the John side of the family became wealthy and prominent. My paternal line descends through Joseph who married Lydia Hargreaves and his son Richard (1825) who married Mary Oliver of Buckton near Bridlington in 1853. Their son was John James Broadbent, my great grandfather who married Mary Ann Broadbent, a descendant of James Broadbent.
I would be happy to pass on moere detailed information if someone would like me to.
