John Amos was my g'grandfather. He served as a Private in Company E., Georgia Volunteers, Cavalry Battalion, under Captain King in Cobb’s Legion, enlisting at Roswell, Georgia on March 22, 1862. In May of ‘64 he was in the Jackson Hospital at Richmond, Virginia, and on the 27th was transferred to Columbia, South Carolina. He was later captured by Union troops and retained in prison at Hart’s Island, New York. He took the Oath of Allegiance to the Union on June 15, 1865 and was released.
James L. was my 2nd g'grandfather. His enlistment in the Army of the Confederate States of America: Private, Georgia State Troops Cavalry, Roswell Battalion, Company C. James enlisted for service on June 28, 1863 at Roswell, Georgia, riding under Captain Thomas E. King. The company was organized for Home Defense and comprised of men and boys from ages 60 to 16.
At least, that's what I can figure out from what records I've seen on the net. James was a son of Isaac Dennett and Catherine Griffith and was the James Albritton who married Nancy Ann Bryan and is mentioned in the Will of her father, Royal David Bryan.
I also am trying to find a connection between my James and the James Allbritton listed below:

Allbritton, James, 3rd Corp.
Raulerson, Westberry, 4th Corp.
PRIVATES
Allbritton, Sr., Thomas, Private.
Allbritton, Noah, Private.
Allbritton, Jr., Thomas, Private.
I have yet to see any records of any engagements James and/or John were involved in while serving.
James L. was a son of the Rev. War vet, John Robert, who is a son of Thomas and Grizzell Whitlock, or John Philip and FNU MNU, depending on your take. (I lean to Thomas, myself.)
Is there any military data on my line that is in your possesion that you can pass along?
And thanks for responding. Yours,
jwa3
