(07/27/2003) John W. ``Bill'' Heard, age 95, of Georgetown, passed away Friday, July 25, 2003. He was born on December 4, 1907, to Swen Albin and Alda Monson Heard in Georgetown, Texas. Bill lived in both Georgetown and Austin. After serving in the U.S. Navy in World War II, he worked at the State Capitol for many years. Bill was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Georgetown. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters, and wife, Lillian Johnson Heard. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Heard of Georgetown; daughter, Betty Hudson of Georgetown; granddaughter, Elizabeth Hudson Sherwood and husband, Taylor of Houston; grandson, Jack William Hudson and wife, Sharlene of Sugarland; and great-granddaughter, Alexandra Hudson Sherwood. The family will receive guests for visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 27, 2003, at Cook- Walden/Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 28, 2003, at the St. Johns United Methodist Church in Georgetown with Reverend Bayard Pratt and Chaplain Dean Hamilton both officiating. Interment services will follow at Palm Valley Lutheran Cemetery in Round Rock. The family requests memorial contributions be made to: Wesleyan Homes Inc., 2001 Scenic Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78626. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Dr. Richard Pearce and the staff and volunteers of Wesleyan Nursing Home for their loving care. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at
