Cornelis Albertson b. 1737 (Gen. Mag. of NJ) married MARY ROBESON m. 2nd CATHERINE BOGART May 31, 1808 (Sussex County Marriages) d. March 21, 1813 aged 74 (gravestone). Mary, wife of Cornelius died May 22, 1807 aged 67 (gravestone). Mary and Cornelius were buried in the Ramseyburg Cemetery in Delaware NJ (gravestones). Also buried in the cemetery were sons of Cornelius and Mary: Edward died November 7, 1810; Uriah died September 25, 1799 aged 36; Nicholas died September 25, 1794 aged 19 (gravestones). Cornelius held the following posts in Knowlton NJ: Commissioner of Roads 1768; Town Clerk 1770-1775 and 1796-1797; Assessor 1780-1781, 1791-92, 1795-1808; Collector 1775 and Town Committee 1790,1804,1812 (Snell History of Warren County). He was on the Committee of accounts of the St. James Episcopal Church of Delaware NJ (Snell). Will of Cornelius was written February 16, 1813 and inventories done March 27, 1813. Will mentions wife Catherine; Rachel, widow of Uriah Albertson; and grandson Cornelius R Albertson, son of Elim Albertson. Estate of Mary Albertson listed : Cornelius, Hugh and Sussana Alberson, children of Edward Alberson; Alen Alberson; John Alberson; Joseph Cammel and wife Abigail, nee Alberson; Jacob Shoemaker and wife Sarah nee Alberson; and David Alberson. Mary was born 26 January 1740.

Father of Cornelius was Nicholas Albertson and mother was Anglechea Vandewater. Where it gets questionable is parentage of Nicholas. My research indicates that it is Garrett. I will be more than happy to share this info with anyone interested. There is also a very interesting personal history written by Garrett(Cornelius' brother). Nicholas' wife Anglechea was baptised on 20 March 1709 at the Brooklyn Dutch Church. Her grandfather Jacob Vandewater emigrated from the Netherlands in 1658. Her father was Cornelius.
