I have been looking for a John S. Finley. I think he may be a great-great grandfather on my mother' side. I have found a J. S. Finley who applied for a pension in Arkansas following the Civil War. My mat. grandmother's name was Lyda M. Finley Runyan. I am trying to find conections to the Civil War so I can apply to DAR. Hope this Arkansas information will help you.
