Dear Melanie,

I'm also a descendant of Josse Gorsline, through his
son Joseph, born 30 July 1736, married Sarah Leverich in 1759, their son Richard, 1802-1893, his son David,1802-1893,
his son Richard A. 1831-?, his son Mark, 1865-1947, his daughter Mary Leone Gorsline, 1908-1984, her son Fredric Becker, 1935-1995, his son Christopher Becker, 1959-
which is ME. So, my paternal grandmother was a Gorsline.

I know little of the Alberti family prior eo Pietro Cesare Alberti, who came to New Amsterdam in 1634 or thereabouts.
His father's name was Andrea di Alberti and his mother
Veronica di Medici. They were married in Venice, Italy.
The Alberti hail from Florence and Venice. I don't know the direct ties from Andrea Alberti and his famous ancestors such as Leon Battista di Alberti, or if Veronica Medici is one of THE Medici, but, since they, too, were all from Florence, it appears likely that the blood of both great Florentine families runs through our veins.

More later,

Your very distant cousin,

Chris Becker
