I'm also a descendant of Pietro Cesare Alberti. My Alberti ancestor was Elizabeth Albertus from Newtown, Long Island. Elizabeth was born sometime around 1700
in Newtown, married Josse Gosselin in 1721,
and died in 1757, still in Newtown. From the
approximate year of birth, she must have been Pietro's granddaughter. Family tradition does state that we, the Albetus/Alberti family came from Venice and are from the same Alberti line as Leon Battista Alberti.
Other family names involved are Gosselin/Gorsline, and Leverich. The Rev.
William Leverich landed in Newtown, L.I.
in 1634 and was the first protestant minister on Long Island.
