I'm helping a friend to locate an Anthony ALBERT-- he was probably born "Anton ALBRECHT" (b. ca. 1817 in Germany) and the name was likely Anglicized to "fit in" the U.S. Anton/Anthony ALBRECHT/ALBERT immigrated to the U.S. According to a history of St. Joseph Co., IN, he settled in Philadelphia, PA & married a Barbara BECK (b. ca. 1820 in Germany). They moved to Bucks Co., PA. ca. 1850. Then they finally settled in St. Joseph Co., IN. They had a son Charles ALBERT who may have been born in Pennsylvania or Indiana and a granddaughter Kate ALBERT who married an Adam HUNSBERGER. I would be grateful for any help in locating EARLY information about Anton ALBRECHT (a.k.a. Anthony ALBERT)-- especially information about him and his wife in Germany and Pennsylvania. They were most likely Lutherans from Bavaria, and we don't know if they knew each other from Germany or if they met in the U.S. I appreciate any leads you can provide. Again, I'm not related, but trying to help a friend make a connection with an ancestor. Thanks! Sarah Notify Administrator about this message?
