In 50 years of research the only data I have found re: John Albye/Albee is as follows: Francis Browne, servant to John Alby, died Mar 1640 in Braintree, MA. (Boston VR). On 19Dec1642 he was 1 of 7 at a Braintree town meeting in which they approved the building of a highway. John Albye was on the list of Freemen from Braintree 10May1643 and again 11May1670 (both lists recorded at Boston). It has only been assumed that Benjamin was related as brother or son,and that he had no other issue. Could it be possible that you are related to the Allabee family of Rhode Island? Over the years I have noted the following in the vital records of Rhode Island: Alleby,William & Sarah Sheffield married 13Dec1716 Tiverton, RI. Allabee,Sarah & Henry Camp marriage int. 04May1728 Tiverton. Allebee, Mary & Jesse Irish mar. int. 21Mar1733 Little Compton,RI. I would be interested in how far back you trace the Allaben name.
