Thanks very much, Jane.Interesting that at that early age news would make it over to PA.The notes I found said "Obadiah and two companions capsized in a canoe and Obadiah was killed by a bear."
I've only heard of the four brothers as well: Obadiah,+ Benjamin, Jonathan, and William.Per R.S. Albee book - 1920 Wash. D.C.:
Benjamin b. 6/28/1740 d. 11/12/1824 or 28; m. 1775 Abigail Clifford.Nothing said of first marriage but have seen notes.Jonathan, Soldier in the Revolution, b. 8/30/1743 d. 1844 (buried in Lexington Flat Cemetery, ME); m. 10/1764 to Sarah Danforth.William, Soldier in the Revolution, b. 4/28/1746 or 6/20/1746 or 9/9/1746 d. 6/26/1836; m. c. 1773 Ellen Dillaway.He was Indian Agent Eastern Tribes 1805 and Deputy Sheriff 1811 Machias, ME.
