Wendy Lee,

Is this your Grandfather as found in the 1930 Bangor Census? If so his immigration year is given as 1905

Name Age
Adostle Zoidis 68
Pasina Zoidis 40
Alberta Zoidis 2 1/12
Athanara Zoidis 1 6/12
Athanasia Zoidis 50 brother
Nicholas Zoidis 48 brother
Forrina Zoidis 38 sister in law
George Zoidis 18
Heold Zoidis 13
Nadi Zoidis 2 6/12
James Zoidis 1 9/12
Dgeris Zoidis 38 brother (name looks like Kilgous to me)
Mary Zoidis 35
Paul Zoidis 16
Peter Zoidis 3 4/12
John Zoidis 2 3/12

Of course if he came before the end of the Balkan Wars then he would have come from Turkey, which occupied that area. The only match I find is Nicolous ZOIDIS arr 1910 from Kos. Turkey, there are several places beginning with Kos in present day Albania.

Have you actually found a manifest for him from 1914? The manifest will give his former residence and birthplace. What about his brothers have you looked for manifests for them?

Robert
