Tsilimidos seem to have come from the root Tsilimi or as we say in Albanian Cilimi, used by southern Albanians and Arvanites in Greece to mean "child".

Another word for cilimi in albanian is also femi, or foshnje, so when someone behaves in an imature way i would say "mos u be si cilimi".
Hope this helps.

It might be that greek island has some old arvanites(mediaval albanians) in it.
