try the brisbane genealogical society in the state of queensland where here and in northern new south wales there is a substantial popu;lation of italian and migrant people involved in eg cane farming with a museum dedicated to them in the small city of lismore in northern new south wales.
try also mitchell reference library. all these sources are very helpful and thorough and are well worth a link too even via snail mail. it is surprising what links there are but in the end not really surprising as this was the major shipping laneway and port of embarkation too in this vast land with its goldmines and promise of other mining even to this day. mike
