Albanese History from Albania

Hello Albanese's!

My uncle Dan (Damian) Albanese formerly of West Orange, NJ now and since about 1970, in Chatsworth, CA, found a book that was handwritten in Italian and told of the days when the Turks were killing all the Albanians in the 1600's.

Waves of boats would leave Albania. One particular set of boats left and both were caught up in a storm. One veered and landed in Greece and thus too the last name 'Albanisius' and the other landed in Italy and became known as Albanese.

My grandparents Clara and Charles Albanese came here in early 1900's. My grandfather was a very outspoken man and was forced to leave Italy or face major problems with the facists there. They lived in Irvington and I believe Newark, NJ and eventually Forked River, NJ.

My father is Morris Albanese and has Albanese cousins in Cincinnatti and Cleveland. My brothers Charles and Dan live in NJ as well as my mother (nay DiPietro) and father and other related family.

I met someone several years ago in Pawtucket, RI that works for the USPS and her mother's maiden name was Albanese. My name is Guy and I live in Silicon Valley, Northern California for the lst 4 years, originally from NJ.

All the best!

Guy Albanese
