Hello Lee,

I am from the Jacinta Alaniz line and I currently live in Mexico Near Monterry. Where do you live, may I ask? I have been searching documents for two years now and have been to Mier to retrieve documents. It is much easier to get documents here in Monterrey then there but not impossible. Also the type of document you need is important. Their are fees for a copy of original and fees for a Certified copy they charge. the difference is that a copy of the original would just be for your scrapbook, a Certified copy is for Court proceedings. The courts require you have a copy certified by the Parish or Municiaplity from which it came. The fees vary from State to state, for instance, here in Monterrey, it was $7.50 dollars($90 pesos approx) for a copy of the orignal and $10.50 dollars (126 pesos approx)for a certified copy. I am not sure the costs now, these were old prices. I will check today at the Monterrey archives to see if their prices went up. I will also check what it costs to get one in Mier and how long it will take. Here in Monterrey it takes a few day but I donīt know the rules for Mier. I will call them later on. Please let me know which type fo document you are looking for.
