Since you mentioned that he was born about Aug 6-8, 1900 then I will keep my eyes open next time I review microfilm LDS # 0605473 which deals with baptisms in the Villa de Santiago Parrish for 1887-1901. Once I found a baptism for Petra Gonzales baptized on 6 Aug 1900 so I was in the neighborhood. Since I cannot be sure where exactly Mr. Faustino comes from this is the only film I have access to with that time frame.

Alanis and Alaniz are completely interchangeable as is Gonzales/Gonzalez, Rodrigues/Rodriguez and Martines/ Martinez. In the old days they placed different names in different records for the same person. The spelled Cepeda as Zepeda and they spelled Tamez as Tames and Thames. In genealogy one has to accept this.

I will keep my eyes peeled for this and I hope others may come forth with some data that may help you.

Take care
