Susan, if Alfred is the father of your Lena, which I believe him to be. The following is on the father of Alfred Lovett. Ashely H. Lovett pvt. Co A & M age 25 enlisted 9/8/1862 Iuka, Ms MI 10/1/1862 Corinth, Ms. Born Winston County Al, teamster, promoted to Sgt. 12/18/1862, MO 9/16/1863 Corinth, Ms., Mo 7/13/1865 Huntsville, Alabama. Ashley Lovett, being the only one of the three brothers to survive the war, was born Dec 5 1835 Winston Co, Al. He married Nancy Elizabeth Dickerson on Aug 5 1866 Marion Co, Al. and had the following children: William A born June 1 1867; Alfred born Dec 13, 1868; Frances M born Jan 31 1873; Andrew J. born Nov 26, 1874; Martha E born Mar 10 1877; James H born Feb 16 1879; Horace A born Feb 16 1879; Fountain Erasus born Sept 19 1883; Sarah Rebecca born Sept 10 1866(the year of birth on Sarah Rebecca could be incorrect); Louida born Apr 19 1890; George Washington born Aug 16 1892. After the war Ashley farmed in Winston County where he died in Haleyville on Aug 19 1918, have been married for over 50 years. His wife Nancy died Aug 31 1934. Both are buired Liberty Grove Missionary Bapt Church.

Ashley other brothers were: Archibal B. Lovett pvt Co A age 34 En & MI Jan 27 1863 Glendale, Ms born Winston County died Mar 4 1863 at Corinth, Miss of Measles. Buried Grave A-2067 Corinth National Cemetery

Andrew J Lovett Pvt Co A Age 31 En &MI Jan 27 1863 Glendale, Ms born Marion County, Al. died Mar 19 1863 at Corinth, Ms of Measles. Buried Grave A-2069 Corinth National Cemetery.'

All three brother served 1st Alabama Cavalry.

On the 1867 Voter List of Winston County. Ashely Lovett gave the following information: Ashely Hewitt Lovett born Dec 5 1835 Walker County, Alabama.
