I would like to contact descendants of two Gilliland families that settled in Winston Co. in the late 1890s. They came from northeast Ala. and are descended from John and Sarah Brashier Gilliland.

One was James H. (or W.?) Gilliland, m. Margaret or Georgann Gaines. Among their children were Charles Burrell Gilliland (b 1880), William Gilliland and Nolan Gilliland. The latter were said to be preachers. Charles Burrell had children James Darrell, Emmlee, Ester and Hazel. I have some info on Hazel.

The other family was that of James Price Gilliland and Lucy Ann Taylor (or Phillips). Their children were Hirem E., Jack, Emma, George, Matilda, Howard, Leamon and Eula. I have some info on Jack. James Price bought land near Arley in 1899.
