James Dickerson Lane is my husband's maternal line. According to family records we show James Dickerson Lane married Narcissa Jane Holland. They had the following children: James, Simon, John Erastus Lafayette(our line)Henry, Jess, Melissa, Serena and Margaret. James Dickerson Lane was active in the Masonic Lodge in Alabama. I have a copy of a Memoriam from the Carbon Hill Lodge to him at his death, which states he died April 10, 1894. His son John E. Lafayette Lane was born in Winston Co., Ala. in 1850. He married Mary Bashti Avery (1850-1926). He was a cabinet maker, Methodist circuit rider and member of the Alabama conference. He served l or 2 terms in the Alabama Legislature during period of William Jennings Bryant. He died in 1918. They had a son, Charles Cameron Lane (1872-1953),who married Elizabeth Geneva Ticknor(1875-1960). They lived in Bonham, Texas, then in Ada, OK, where both are buried. Margaret Lane married ? Hill. Another daugher married Vernon Kiker and lived in Wewoka, OK. Hope this helps. If you have any more information on the parents of James Dickerson Lane I would love to have it, as that is as far back as I have been able to go.
