In the 1867 Voter's List of Winston Co., there is a notation under the name of Ashley Hewitt Lovett which reads, "Convicted of a felony but afterwards restored, served 3 years in the Federal army." Does anyone living today know what crime or felony that Ashley Hewitt was convicted of?
