Jonson Riddle (Rake) B ABT 1805 in Virginia, M ABT 1825 in Tennessee, D ABT 1868 in Winston County, Alabama, and is Buried in the Cemitary on Rt 24 between HalleyVille and Double Springs, Alabama. His headstone is shaped like an arrow head and has a sunflower on it. He named his children after flowers, and Married Martha Carmack who was born ABT 1816 in North Carolina, DOD unknown. He had sons including Josph Riddle and My G Grand father John Manuel Riddle (Devil John), B 1 Mar 1846, M ABT 1868, D 15 Jul 1909. John Manuel Married Nancy E. (Elizabeth ?) Carter, B 26 Apr 1848, D 22 Jan 1919, all this in Winston County. One of the Daughters Delilah Beatrice Riddle, B 04 Apr 1881 Double Springs, D 22 Nov 1951 at 233 South Crown Street, Florence Alabama, was my Grand mom, Her husband William Jackson Taylor (Jack), B 25 Oct 1877, D 23 June 1951 was from Winston County. Jack Taylors father was William Carrol Taylor, B 8 Feb 1847 D 24 Jan 1922, and was from Double Springs. William Carrol Taylors father was John Henry Taylor Sr., B ABT 1807 N. C., M ABT 1836 N. C., D ABT 1880. John Henry Taylor married Eliza Cagle, B ABT 1807 in N. C., DOD unknown, Eliza Cagles mother was Barbara Cagle, B ABT 1778 in North Carolina, D ABT 1860 in Winston County Alabama. Family history has it as three Riddle daughters of John Manual Riddle married three Taylor boys, and Delilah Beatrice Riddle (Bat), was one of the three. Who are the other two. Question?, was Jonson (Rake) Riddle Cherokee, and was Martha Carmac, as well her mother Barbara Carmack Cherokee?
