ALA. CENTRAL FEMALE COLLEGE

Am trying to locate information about Alabama Central Female College--was located in Tuscaloosa in, I understand, the building that had been the state capitol at one time. My grandmother graduated from ACFC in 1889. I have a medal she received for "Scholarship and Deportment", "1888-1889", and "ACFC" all engraved on the front, along with her name,Ella B. Blocker, engraved on the back. I understand that the building burned down. Does anyone know any history on this school?
