Tuscaloosa Information

I am trying to locate where some places are located. My ancester, John Shelby and wife Martha Jones Shelby was a resident of Tuscaloosa County from the late 1830's until she died in the 1880's. In the US federal census they were located in District 2 in 1850. In 1860 they were in the Western Div Chesnuts Post Office, and in 1870 they were in Precinct 7 North River Post Office. I would like to know where these places are located. I have been unable to locate them on any maps, so they must have changed names since then. If anyone could please help me locate them.
