If you write to the Public Library / Archives / Geneology of the town

they or any family members were born in and ask for census records,

marriage records, land records, obits, birth and marriage announcements.

There addresses are on the internet.

Also write to these towns and see if he is listed in the census there..

Death certificates, list parents an where died, cause of death and where they were born..
