Jim,
Thank You so much for your information. I have been researching my Norris family for about 6 months and just last week discovered I had the wrong father for my 3rd great grandfather Anderson Martin Norris, father of William Edward Norris. It's a long story, but the man I thought was Anderson's father turned out to actually be one of his uncles! Too many Norris men with the same name! But they all came from Edgefield Co. South Carolina and at least I know Anderson's grandfather was Reverend Thomas Norris who married Rebecca Miller. He's written up in the Annals Of Newberry and other books on the history of Newberry Co. South Carolina.
Some of my fellow Norris researchers have submitted DNA tests and that's really gone a long way in helping to connect back where the Census and other documents leave off or the information is too sketchy. The DNA helped resolve the question of Whether the other Norris family in Edgefield had also been related to ours and as it turns out we are Not related. It helps cut down on some confusion.
But thanks again and I look forward to anything else you can find. I will also get back with you on anything else I find.
Best regards,
Tracy
