Know that's an old post. My parents are from the Dudleyville area. It is right on the Chambers/Tallapoosa County line between Dadeville and LaFayette - pretty much half way. Dudleyville was a bustling area in the mid 1800s generally because it was on an old Indian trail between two good locations for crossing the Chattahoochee and the Tallapoosa rivers. Near West Point, Ga was the spot on the Hooch for crossing. West of Dudleyville was the spot for crossing the Tallapoosa just north of Horseshoe Bend.
