I looked them up on the 1880 census and it looks like the family then lived in Jefferson County.Unfortunately, the 20 to 21 year female was not living with them. Two doors down there is a couple living named Benjamin Odum 20 years old and his wife Alfisia G. 20 years old.The only reason I mention that is, possibly on the 1870 census the census taker did not understand the name therefore didn't write it. Middle initial is G.I know it's a shot in the dark, but that's all I found.I am not searching this line, but thought I'd try to help.
By the way, one of the daughters in that family married someone named Pitts. The 1880 census has Joseph R. Pitts, grandson, 9 years old; living with Joseph and Harriet.
Hope some of this helps............Brenda
