Laura, thanks for your response. I had a feeling about that "lazy" thing myself.
I actually wanted the divorce records in order to get my grandparents' marriage date. I did contact the state, and they did a ten year search, which yielded that elusive marriage record. Seems they ran off to the neighboring county and lied about their ages. So, luckily, I don't need the divorce record anymore.
