Yes, there is a large room filled with original record books at the courthouse and a copier (small charge) for public use. The staff, if available, will help make copies from the larger books. The courthouse square has free parking. Touch of Home bakery is a place to eat lunch. There are some Sumter County AL land and marriage indexes posted on line at various sites to prepare for the search.
