My 4GF was Richard Jenkins. As R.F. Jenkins , he married Jennett Williams on 11 Feb 1822 in Henrico Co. VA. The F. may have stood for Francis in that his oldest daughter , Ann R. Jenkins Maury named her youngest son by that name. Oral history says that Richard moved from a farm near Richmond , VA in 1834/36 to Livenston , Sumter Co Al. the 1840 Sumter co AL census shows Richard Jenkins with a free white female age 60-69 which may have been his mother. Richard is said to have been born CA 1797 in VA. I have not been able to verify: 1. living in Spotsytvana Co VA; 2. brothers Leroy of Benjamin Frances tho' Benjamin and Frances names are carried down; 3. Sister Elizabeth tho' Richard had a daughter by that name; 4. Parents - the name Lee is carried down; 5. how Richard b. 1797 and Benjamin F. born Nov 3 1828 could have been brothers, Richard and Jennett had three children born Henrico VA. Two of Richard's children , Anna and John T. named their first son Seth. Both Ann R. and John had a son called Woodville. do you have any new info of Richard's family?
