James Ethridge is supposedly buried in Sumter Co., AL. He died about 1850, give or take a year or two.
He was married to Martha Gay of Lauderdale Co., MS. They had a son, Joseph Emanuel Ethridge, born abt. 1849 in MS.
Martha died @1850 and James supposedly remarried, but died a short time later. His 2nd wife took his son, Joseph, and left him at the child's GAY Grandparents because she was leaving the area.
